Summary: This special session will explore the intricate relationship between yoga and mental health through both conceptual reviews and experimental findings.
Two review papers—one on Consciousness and Mental Health and another on Nadhanusandhana (contemplation on sound)—provide a theoretical foundation rooted in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and other yogic scriptures. Complementing these, two experimental studies offer empirical insights: one investigating qualitative differences in mind wandering among meditators using experience sampling, and another examining the efficacy of Rajayoga as a distant healing intervention in a hospital setting. Together, these discussions aim to bridge traditional yogic perspectives with contemporary psychological and neuroscientific research, offering valuable insights for researchers, clinicians, and practitioners.
Submissions are invited for full-lengths papers based on original work. Full-length papers should follow the Springer template, and should be limited to 8 to 12 pages. The accepted full papers will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer.
